It’s been two weeks since my last article round-up. Hopefully in that time you’ve made some great progress with your finances. Okay, like me, you probably haven’t made a ton of progress this week. When I’m watching my finances, time seems to move soooooo slow. Below are some of my favorite posts from the last week (or two).
TwentySomethingMoney asked readers to help in deciding whether he should pay the minimum on his student loan and invest the rest, or if he should focus on paying off the debt and then invest once that’s paid off. It isn’t really an article, but I felt it was worth mentioning since I was recently dealing with a similar decision. I ended up selling off about $10k of investments to pay off a chunk of my student loans. We’ll have to wait and see what TSF does.
Robert Brokamp from The Motley Fool posted lessons to be taken away from The Millionaire Next Door at GetRichSlowly. I received the book as a gift for Christmas, but I still haven’t gotten the opportunity to read it. It’s definitely at the top of my list. Head on over and check out the list. I’ll let you know soon what I think about the book (once I read it, of course).
Lazy Man and Money wrote about his experience with LendingClub.com. It’s something I have considered checking out, but I really haven’t looked into it too much. Have any of you used LendingClub? Post below in the comments, I’d love to hear about your experience.
Hey there — thanks for the link back to my article. I’m still deciding whether to kill off the student loan all together, or invest my money elsewhere. Its the decision between a guaranteed 4% return by paying off the student loan, or potentially more than that, in the market.
Get reading! haha seriously, I just got the book on my ipod as an audio book and it’s great, FULL of very interesting information from their research. I really identified with some of the info and there is a lot of surprising stuff in there, really a great book… happy I got the opportunity to check it out!
